CAL Fluor Red 590 is used for the 5' labeling of fluorogenic probes used in 5' nuclease assays, Molecular Beacons, Scorpion primers, Amplifluor primers, and other genomic assays.
CAL Fluor Red 590 is an alternative dye for TAMRA and is quenched by BHQ-2 dye.
